Program Team

The program team is made up of people who are passionate about Bethany Birches Camp’s ministry. The role of the program team is to implement the program on a daily and hourly basis. This team is filled with people who are flexible, energetic, service-oriented, capable leaders, and willing to adapt as the needs of the summer develop. All program team members will share in daily/weekly tasks including, but not limited to, leading activities, the support of the counseling team, communication with all staff teams, and will work towards a common goal of creating a safe and loving environment for all campers. Each team member will be responsible for a subset of the program structure, and will collaborate with and support one another with the intention of enhanced programming for all.
Duration: 10 – 12 weeks
Type: Full Time Seasonal
3-4 Individuals hired each summer
Each Program Team member will lead a specific subset of the program based on experience, interest, and abilities.
Example: media, administration, behavioral needs, activities leadership, floating counselor, teen leadership programs, adventure activity facilitation, etc.
Below are general additional duties that all program team members share:

Implement the summer program by providing (or scheduling) transition and instruction for each activity

Creation, development, and leadership of new program activities.

Liaison between summer staff and year round leadership team.

Provide feedback to continue to improve summer program

Meet with supervisor and program team as regularly scheduled each week

Ensure Program Set Up/Tear Down in timely fashion

Becoming additionally certified (Archery, belaying, lifeguard, low ropes, ect.)

Program Team members should have a deep desire to share God’s love with those around them, especially campers. They should enjoy leading large groups of campers and also be equipped to aid counselors in working with difficult campers. The Program Team should relate well to others and seek to bring out the best in the summer team. These team members should be good communicators and listeners. They should be creative and energetic. Members of the Program Team should be able to juggle multiple tasks at once while holding the camper experience as the priority. They should be able to articulate a faith founded on Jesus Christ both in words and actions.
Minimum age: 20
Starting Salary: $300 – $400/week
(higher pay commensurate with experience)
