To perform the general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the Bethany Birches Camp facilities including building, grounds, motor vehicles and tools. This person also has supervisory responsibility.
Job Type: Full-time, seasonal. June – August
Location: On site at camp
Reports to: Facilities Manager (or Executive Director)
Direct Reports: Campers and Volunteers
MAINTENACE DUTIES:
- Coordinate and plan for volunteer workgroups and workdays that may occur during summer
- Contact service personnel such as plumber, electrician, etc. as needed
- Complete lawn care
- Complete landscaping
- Purchase and retrieve needed supplies for maintenance and repair
- Keep shelters stocked with firewood
- Keep all motors (tractor, mower, weed whacker, chainsaws, etc) in proper condition by performing regular maintenance according to proper schedules
- Maintain trails, low ropes course, pond features and other physical resources
PROGRAM DUTIES:
- Lifeguard
- Lead and plan for service adventure
- Lend a hand to program where most needed as determined by Camp Director (hay rides, theme nights, pig trough, slip’n’slide, etc)
- Be involved with fireside, evening activities and other special activities as your desire and schedule allows
- Fit in as you most desire – as long as maintenance duties are accomplished you can participate in programming as much as you want
