Day Camp Manager

Day Camp Manager will work with the Camp Director to fulfill the following: lead the summer day camp staff (2-4 people) and create, develop and implement programs for ages 5-10 for the summer Day Camp sessions. The Day Camp Manager provides leadership to the BBC Program and ensures the program is created and carried out in ways that share Jesus with each camper. They should also lead the program to provide campers with a positive memorable camp experience. This position is responsible for the safety of the campers within the Day Camp Program
Duration: 10 – 12 weeks
Type: Full Time Seasonal
1 Individual hired each summer
Below are general additional duties that all program team members share:

Lead the summer program by creating schedules and activities for each week of day camp.

Create and develop new program activities.

Partner with Camp Director to find and hire day camp staff (may be volunteers)

Lead and supervise Day Camp staff through daily staff meeting, giving regular feedback, and being available for support.

Meet parents each morning and afternoon for drop off/pick up

Available for camper needs (emotional, behavioral, physical, etc)

Provide feedback to continue to improve summer program including surveying parents and campers.

Meet with Camp Director as regularly scheduled each week.

Coordinate Day Camp program schedules with the overnight program schedules (lifeguards, group games, activities leadership, rock wall, etc)

Ensure program set up/tear down in timely fashion.

Maintain a safe environment at all times

The Day Camp Manager should have a deep desire to share God’s love with those around them, especially campers. They should enjoy leading large groups of campers and also be equipped to aid counselors in working with campers who need additional support. The Day Camp Manager should relate well to others and seek to bring out the best in the summer team. This person should be a good communicator and listener. They should be creative and energetic. The Day Camp Manager should be able to juggle multiple tasks at once while holding the camper experience as the priority. This person should be able to articulate a faith founded on Jesus Christ both in words and actions. The Day Camp Manager should also be able to communicate well with parents and represent BBC in a mature and responsible way.
Minimum age: 20
Starting Salary: $300 – $400/week
(higher pay commensurate with experience)
